Delegations

Each country will be represented officially by a delegation of four : the head and three other members. Those will be treated as guests of the government of Saudi Arabia.

Venue
The Seventh International Energy Forum will be held at the King Faisal Conference Hall adjacent to the Riyadh Intercontinental Hotel, which covers more than a hundred acres of grounds in the heart of the capital. The hotel is located close to key industrial and commercial areas, and is conveniently reachable via modern highways. The 42k.m. (some 35 minutes) drive from King Khalid International Airport will give the visitor a glance at the city and its surroundings.

Media Coverage
1. Neither the secretarial of the Seventh International Energy Forum, nor any delegation, will issue any official document or statement which may commit any of the participating countries or international organizations to a specific position, except as may be agreed on by all in the course of the deliberations.

2. Accredited media representatives have been invited to attend selected proceedings of the Forum, such as the official opening and the media Conference at the conclusion of the proceedings.

3. The particulars of media representatives accredited to the Forum have been made available to delegation liaison officers. Delegates are free to give individual interviews, subject to the provisions of paragraph one (1) above. The media information desk attached to the Forum secretariat at the venue may also be approached for assistance.

Riyadh, the Cultural Capital for 2000
UNESCO has chosen Riyadh to be the cultural Capital of the Arab World for the year 2000. Riyadh, worthy of this nomination, has all the necessary components of a capital for culture: Museums, universities, public libraries, cultural and art centers, annual cultural conferences, festivities, and many other activities.

Places of Interest
One may visit the historical archaeological sites of Diriyah, the Kingdom's first capital. Another site of interest is King Abdul Aziz historical center where the national museum and the Masmak Fortress occupy the center of modern Riyadh. One may also take interest in visiting the traditional Arabic gold and antique souks. The adventurous may want to enjoy a trip to the Dahna and Nafud deserts east and north of the city.

Other Activities
After the Forum, delegations may wish to:

1. Visit the holy city of Mekka Al-Mukarramah to perform Omrah.
2. Visit the oil facilities in the Eastern Province.
3. Other options may be arranged.
